Dermal Fillers are carried out by one of our skilled and qualified registered prescribing nurses and there is very little pain involved, although some discomfort should be expected due to the nature of the treatment. It is normal to have concerns about treatments that involve a needle but we are on hand to reassure you and answer any questions that you might have.
Naturally, there are several considerations with dermal fillers. With this type of treatment the timing needs to be just right. You should not have cosmetic fillers just before a special occasion – we would recommend a minimum of around two weeks before an event. Some people may experience slight bruising after the treatment so this allows plenty of time for this to subside.
Dermal fillers – how does it work?
We usually allow an hour for this procedure to be completed but this varies according to the individual. Discomfort is kept to a minimum as our expert prescribing registered nurse will apply a local anaesthetic to numb the affected area. We also reduce the possibility of an infection by cleansing the skin before we begin.
We understand that you might be worried about dermal fillers as the procedure involves a needle but the needle is very fine and there is nothing to worry about. Our friendly team will do everything they can to put you at ease when having dermal fillers. Following the treatment we may need to massage the skin a little. You will be able to see the difference immediately, particularly when you see the ‘before’ and ‘after’ photos that we take as this provides an instant comparison.
Dermal Fillers advice – we are here for you
Our aftercare tips for cosmetic fillers are designed to keep your skin looking as good as possible for as long as possible. We advise you to avoid extremes like alcohol and heat and it is a good idea to keep the face still if possible to allow the dermal fillers injected some time to settle. It is also important to avoid using make-up for at least 12 hours after dermal fillers as the skin may be sensitive for a little while. Protecting the skin with sunscreen will be necessary if you need to spend any time outdoors. Our team are on hand if you have any questions about after care and you can contact us at any time.
We will also advise you on how often you may need to have your dermal fillers renewed. This is different for every person and over time you may notice that the gaps between treatments get longer as the effects accumulate.
