Cosmetic & Medical Tattooing

Semi Permanent Eyebrows
You will be able to find out more about the cosmetic tattooing process at the initial consultation where our specialist will explain everything that you need to know and answer any questions that you may have regarding cosmetic tattooing. When having semi permanent eyebrows you get to choose from a softer look or a tattooed simulation of hair. This is a popular option for those who have lost their eyebrows as a result of a medical condition.

Having this type of cosmetic tattooing is also referred to as micropigmentation and our experts will explain how this is a very safe treatment that can give you the lasting results that you are looking for. Semi permanent eyebrows can give you a little more confidence about your overall look and you can also consider a variety of other semi permanent make-up options such as eye liner and lip liner, and these can be carried out at the same time.

Semi Permanent Eyeliner
Semi permanent eyeliner is not the only option with Cosmetic Tattooing. Anyone who regularly has to fill in their eyebrows with a pencil or who uses lip liner and lip colour can benefit from this type of cosmetic tattooing. Imagine make-up that stays in place no matter what you are doing! You can go swimming, take part in other sports or even just stand out in the rain without worrying about your make-up running.

What are the benefits?
Being able to look your best at all times is one of the main benefits of cosmetic tattooing. When you first wake up in the morning the colour and definition that you are looking for is already in place saving you a great deal of time, not to mention the money saved by not having to purchase make-up regularly. There is a choice of colours for this type of treatment and our micropigmentation specialist will work with you to find shades that will suit you no matter what you are wearing or doing.

What should I expect?
The process is fairly painless; while it is not uncommon to experience some discomfort, this soon passes. You can also expect your recovery time to be fairly short too. The treated area could see some swelling but this will soon subside. Colours used for semi permanent eyeliner may appear to be darker at first but will fade as the colour settles and stabilises within the skin. This is a process which has a variable time frame as it is affected by different factors including age, skin type and the shade chosen.
Opting for a treatment such as semi permanent eyeliner is a great way to give your confidence a boost but this is not the only option available to you. If you are struggling with issues such as the first signs of ageing then there are many different treatments that we can offer you here at Karma House in Aylesbury. If you are interested in having other treatments then talk to our friendly and helpful team as it may be that they can be carried out at the same time as you have semi permanent eyeliner applied.

Semi Permanent Lip Liner

What are the advantages?
It is also a great feature for those who do not like to be seen without their make-up – the colour remains fast, even when you first wake up. In addition, it will not smudge like traditional make-up so no trying to correct mistakes!
What is involved?
Immediately following the treatment you may notice that there is a slight swelling and it could take a few days for this to subside. At first you will notice that the colour is perhaps a little darker than you first wanted but your micropigmentation specialist will explain that this is normal and it will fade in time. The pigment matures, and around six weeks after the treatment, it will be the required colour. However, this is an estimate and it does depend upon the individual being treated as age, skin type and lifestyle can all play a part in this process.
The process of semi permanent lip liner is safe and you may hear our team refer to it as micropigmentation. The lasting results of this type of treatment are helping to make it popular and it can save a great deal of time. Semi permanent make-up also comes in the form of eye liner and eyebrows. Medical tattooing can also be used to cover up scars.
Shape and definition can be given to the features of the face and this can help to ensure that you always look your best. Areola Restoration (Areola Tattooing)

What is involved?
Our experienced micropigmentation specialist can also use this technique to disguise the appearance of scar tissue and burns, giving the skin the same colouring as the surrounding skin, thus making the scar far less obvious. Cosmetic tattooing can also be used for semi permanent eyebrows and eyeliner.
Areola tattooing can be considered along the lines of a standard tattoo, although pigments are used instead of inks. These pigments are placed within the dermal layer of the skin and the process can take between one and two hours. We understand that you may have concerns about the nipple tattoo procedure being painful, but there is almost no pain involved as a numbing cream is used on the area to be treated before the procedure begins. Some people may experience a little discomfort but this soon subsides.
Aftercare for Areola Tattoo
Every patient is different and the colour will settle into the skin slightly different with each individual. At your initial consultation, Caron will discuss this with you as she will look at factors such as your age, your lifestyle and your skin type, and how these will affect the process of areola tattooing.
Areola restoration, also known as areola tattooing – what should I expect?
Here at Karma House in Aylesbury we have a highly experienced micropigmentation specialist, Caron Vetter, who has been carrying out the procedure for over 20 years and was one of the first in this country to train in areola restoration.
You will have an initial consultation with Caron which will take ½ hour where she will discuss the whole process of areola tattooing with you, as well as showing you areola tattooing before and after photos. We will need information on your general health and the kind of result that you are hoping to achieve. By going through all this in advance we can be sure that the treatment you are having is suitable for your needs. This is also the opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have. If you have any concerns at all regarding the nipple tattoo then we are happy to give you the information you need.

Cleft Lip Repair

How does it work?
The pigments are inserted into the dermal layer of the skin and your cleft lip repair treatment will take around an hour or more, but this depends greatly on the area of skin that is being treated and the individual. Cleft lip repair is relatively painless, although our experienced micropigmentation specialist will advise you that there may be some discomfort. Our initial consultation process has been designed to put you at ease so that at every point during your cleft lip repair treatment you will feel as though you are in safe hands.
The treated skin may swell slightly after treatment but this is perfectly normal. It should return to its normal state within a few days, but if you have any concerns then our team is on hand to answer any questions that you may have.
What are the advantages of this treatment?
Karma House in Aylesbury is staffed by qualified and experienced professionals and at every stage we are on hand to answer any questions that you have about the cleft lip repair treatment and the aftercare. More information can be obtained at the consultation stage, where our experienced micropigmentation specialist will talk to you about your medical history and what you want to achieve before advising you if the process can be taken any further – we will never recommend a treatment if it is unsuitable for your needs.
The range of treatments available at our Clinic are all designed to deal with those niggling cosmetic issues to give your confidence a boost and allow you to achieve the look that you want. Other treatments such as laser hair removal can also help and could be carried out at the same time. Why not speak to a member of our team about combining other treatments with your cleft lip repair medical tattooing treatment?
